The Novice Boxing Program

 

Basic Boxing Fundamentals:

1)      Offense

a.      Keys to the Left/Right Jab.

b.      Keys to the Straight.

c.       The correct boxing stance.

d.      Keys to Footwork.

e.      Keys to Head Movement.

f.        Heavy Bag work.

g.      Shadow Boxing.

h.      Jump Rope.

i.        Conditioning.

 

2)        Defense                    a.   Defense against the Left/Right jab.

i.        Catching.

ii.      Slipping.

b.      Defense against the straight Left/Right.

i.        Catching

ii.      Slipping.

 

3)      General Ring Technique.

 

It takes twelve weeks of conditioning and training to develop and build a solid foundation in amateur boxing. When the foundation is strong, the athlete will have a more successful amateur boxing career.
